The romance and tragedy of Shakespeare’s famed couple, Romeo and Juliet, comes to life in two different musical interpretations. Tchaikovsky’s overture-fantasy features a well-known love theme that has been used in many movies and television programs. Prokofiev’s ballet, composed in 1935, features narration of excerpts from Shakespeare’s text.
