Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at playing real musical instruments as well as receive the opportunity to join an art instructor in an art class through collaboration between the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and the South Shore Arts. The Music portion of “Toot ‘n Doodle” features an educational video presentation, as well as a musical “petting zoo” where children have the opportunity to hear, touch and play musical instruments from the woodwind, brass, percussion, and string families. The art class consists of a music-related art activity for the children to enjoy. An Art Association instructor provides activities based on how music and visual art can influence one another. Musical instruments provided by Quinlan & Fabish Music of Valparaiso.
