2012 Young People's Competion

For children finishing grades K-11 by June 30, 2012
 
Audition Dates:
Friday, May 4, 2012, 4-7 p.m. 
Saturday, May 5, 2012, 1:30-4:30 p.m.

   

Auditions will be held in the
Northwest Indiana Symphony Rehearsal Hall
Center for Visual and Performing Arts
1040 Ridge Road, Munster 46321 
 
Auditions by appointment only.
Audition Fee is $15 per entry
(due at time of audition along with application).
Audition reservation deadline is May 3, 2012.

To Qualify, the student must: 

 * Play any instrument or sing (duets and trios accepted)

  * Memorize any piece of their choice (2 minute maximum)

  * Finish grade K-11 by June 30, 2012

  * Reside in Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Newton or 

   Starke Counties, OR study with teachers who teach in those

   counties, OR be a current member of the Northwest Indiana

   Symphony Youth Orchestra

  * Must provide their own accompanist for auditions

  * Winners must provide their own Symphony-approved accompanist

    at the concert

  * Contestant cannot be a winner in the 2010-2011 or 2011-2012

   seasons

 

 

Winners will play their piece (2 minutes maximum) at a classical, pops, education, outreach or summer concert within 18 months following the competition. These assignments are at the discretion of the Music Director.
